Istanbul University Center for Islamic Economics and Finance is pleased to announce its 1st International Graduate Student Symposium which will be held on 26-27 September 2020 in Istanbul.
The International Islamic Economics and Finance Graduate Student Symposium seeks to bring M.A. and Ph.D. students together from a diverse range of perspectives and disciplines converging around the theme of Islamic economics and finance.
We hope to provide an opportunity for interactive and interdisciplinary engagement aiming to make the researches and ideas more qualified. In addition, one of the goals of the symposium is to raise interaction and integration among the Islamic economics and finance researchers in order to lay ground for the exchange of knowledge/experience and cooperation.
All graduate students are encouraged to apply, including M.A. and Ph.D. students at any stage of their studies. The symposium will focus on topics related to Islamic economics and finance. In this context, priorities will be given to papers dealing with the concepts of economics, finance, insurance, Islamic economic thought and history and Islamic economics.
The originality of the articles to be sent to the symposium is considered important. For this reason, instead of descriptive texts, we expect that proposals of papers which have a specific focus and which offer solutions are sent instead of descriptive texts.
Papers presented in the Symposium will be reviewed by the symposium scientific committee and the three most successful papers will be awarded. By referring to their authors successful papers will also be published as a book. Accommodation will be provided to the participants who will make presentations at the symposium and travel expenses of some participants will be provided with a certain amount of budget.
